Rice is the most arsenic contaminated vegan food (even if organic).

Rice is the most arsenic contaminated vegan food (even if organic). One study found IQ was 10 points lower for kids exposed to high Arsenic ► free paper ► https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1852689/, Environ Health Perspect. 2007 Apr; 115(4): 643–647. The study also found that fluoride intake is linked to lower height. This arsenic exposure and IQ lowering can happen even during womb time (not just during lactation or early years of eating formula or instant cereal loaded with arsenic), as mom eats cookies, cereals, cereal bars, pancakes and things made with rice. The largest source, 55%, of inorganic arsenic (the toxic one) for infants and toddlers between four and 24 months old was rice cereal ► free paper ► https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4847023/ ► Int J Environ Res Public Health. 2016 Apr; 13(4): 361. Infant formula provided 9%.

I avoid all rice. Arsenic is high also in beers and wine, as well as other products or juices (grape juice, etc) that are filtered with diatomaceous earth as explained at https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28437164. This J Food Prot. 2017 Jun;80(6):892-902 paper explains these filters leak lead and arsenic into apple, grape and other juices - so it is better to eat fruits and veggies with fiber than buy juices or filtered vinegar enriched with arsenic and lead. Brussels sprouts, fish, also have higher arsenic and amazingly, toenail arsenic levels can be 30% higher in beer wine drinkers and seafood eaters, but not so much in rice eaters due to the fact seafood arsenic is incorporated into toenails more, but this doesn't mean rice arsenic doesn't do its damage, just that seafood arsenic is very absorbed into toenails and going vegan helps on that end. ► https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3907042/ ► this paper explains other studies found alcohol drinkers have higher arsenic levels, possibly due to alcohol impairing body's ability to eliminate arsenic. One more reason to give up alcohol, especially since spices like rosemary got 400 times more antioxidants than wine (ORAC score).

Arsenic causes many diseases, infections, cancers, etc and can kill in 1 hour at 100 mg. Lentils and beans have much less arsenic and they got more fiber, 4 times more protein, much more complete protein, etc than rice.

https://draxe.com/arsenic-in-rice/ explains that protein powders sometimes have a lot of arsenic too, as they use rice protein as source. Arsenic is also found in fish, wine and dairy, as well as poultry in countries that have not banned Arsenic drugs like the EU and US did and even the US feed may contain arsenic due to contaminated soils from old manure used on the soil. Unfortunately, arsenic in soil from manure killed the rice plants, so the GMO guys came up with arsenic resistant rice that will accumulate arsenic and pass it to people with no problem. In our profit centered world, decisions in science are made not with longevity or health in mind as explained in this great video by Dr. Greger about arsenic in infant foods https://youtu.be/UJgjOPA1mxw. Just like instead of coming up with alternative to cancer causing glyphosate (https://plus.google.com/+AlexPsi/posts/CsrqnabWAav explains alternatives to pesticides like all going vegan), they came up with GMO glyphosate resistant corn that can be sprayed with 10 times the glyphosate and leads to a corn vastly different in pesticide content (over 10 times sometimes) and other parameters. Why corn? Meat eating needs 10 times the land, so they need all corn to feed to cows (increase yield via GMO due to lack of land), so people eat cancer causing beef and poison the food of vegans too with glyphosate and arsenic, from arsenic containing drugs given to chicken to grow faster and resist infections in the ultra crowded factory farms where chicken get sick a lot faster due to crowding and feces. It's not nice when carcinogenic glyphosate is in all cotton clothing and all food products using the GMOs resistant to glyphosate. Companies say it's a negligible effect on human health, as with lead they said it's an essential nutrient and a recent ad i saw said thimerosal mercury in vaccines increases IQ (but it does the opposite). If cities use food waste bins (where people dump peels from watermelon, oranges and fruits and veggies, etc), as recycle bins are used, the food waste can be used to create fertilizer that is 100% vegan and remove the need to use toxic manure (with Salmonella and other things from chicken and livestock) as fertilizer on vegan stuff. I am not saying that all GMOs are bad, just that we could all go vegan and no longer eat these toxic things. :)

For those into scientific details of arsenic damaging effects at low levels even, see also https://youtu.be/lX6xvg1_234. For a list of the rice with lowest arsenic, see https://youtu.be/my_yHc9MgQ8. However, given that lentils have no arsenic, much more fiber, 3 times more protein than rice, more complete protein, etc - I would not waste my time ever making rice, making lentils instead using the same rice cooker or a cheap 50 dollar pressure cooker (automatic cooking 20-30 minutes you are done). For 72 years people used these Arsenic drugs in the US in poultry, contaminating every chicken eating American with arsenic until 2016 when they banned it. The manure used on some vegan crops contaminated the soil because it came from the arsenic poisoned chicken, since not everyone uses vegan fertilizer. Decontaminating soils is very hard, but doable. New bacteria are engineered to do things like that as a new study explains https://phys.org/news/2017-07-genetically-yeast-heavy-metal-pollution.html. It's good to eat heavy metal detoxifying foods, as explained at the end of this long mercury post ► https://plus.google.com/+AlexPsi/posts/DCZWMxHtm6x.

VEGANISM

For 100+ reasons I didn't eat meat for 21 years and dairy for 13 years (12% of millennials have already given up meat in America) seehttps://plus.google.com/+AlexPsi/posts/2Z1fCnTHWbh. Going vegan is like planting 62 trees in your backyard, as far as CO2 emissions reduction.πŸ’œπŸ˜ŠπŸ’œ
